对于大多数乒乓球友来说，套胶一旦粘在球拍上就不再撕下来了。但对于专业选手或是要求较高的球友们而言，一般是在比赛或打球之前采用灌胶的方法重新粘贴球拍，其目的在于增加胶皮的弹性。随着有机胶水时代的终结，各种标注着内能套胶的胶皮如雨后春笋般的被各大厂商推出，那么什么是内能套胶呢？
内能套胶概念：
内能套胶，顾名思义，内部蕴藏能量，是将海绵和胶皮拉伸膨胀后再进行粘合的新套胶制作工艺。其设计理念是追求在击球过程中，将能量损失降至最低，从而制造出的饱满的弧线以增加弧圈的二速，充分释放出弧圈的前冲力。
内能套胶这个概念并不是进入有机时代才出现的，而是被这个时代无限放大而已。早在无机时代日本和德国等乒乓厂家就推出了很多著名的内能套胶，例如蝴蝶的BRYCE、多尼克的F1、挺拔的鱼雷等内能套胶。
内能套胶特点：内能套胶的特点是套胶弹性好，力量足，借利好，二跳快等优点。但它也存在搓球不转、弧线不贼、摆短冒高、寿命短等缺点。是否选用内能套胶应该根据自己的技术特点而定。大部分中国运动员的配置正手一般使用较传统的国产套胶反手使用国外产的内能套胶，这种配置方法主要取决于运动员的技术打法，国内运动员大多秉承了中国传统的技术打法，上肢和前臂收的快，打出的球“冲、转、贼”，如果采用国外产的内能套胶就突出不了这种特点。
与普通海绵套胶（例如狂飙系列）相比内能套胶在击球过程中有一个储能过程，如果此时收臂动作快，能量被提前释放，此时会感觉球的速度和力量起不来，但有时没怎么发力却发现球的质量很高。所以对于那些力量不足且不太追求弧线的乒乓球友们而言，内能套胶不失为一个很好的选择。
购买内能套胶注意事项：乒乓球友在购买此类套胶时会发现第几代内能套胶问题，例如德国的TENSOR内能技术，在第一代内能中采取的是胶皮拉伸，第二代中采取的是胶皮海绵的拉伸，第三代是胶皮、海绵拉伸和粘合技术，而现在又出现了第四代内能套胶。前三代内能套胶一般是不依赖快速胶水，而第四代则已经摆脱了快速胶水。目前随着无机时代的终结，内能套胶已经逐步成为了套胶市场的主力产品。
